Why Ant Identification Matters Before Treatment
Miami has numerous ant species with very different treatment requirements. Applying a generic spray or the wrong product type can make an infestation significantly worse — particularly for budding species like ghost ants and Pharaoh ants, which split into multiple satellite colonies when they detect a repellent chemical.
Our inspection process ensures the right treatment is selected for the species present, and products are applied in the right locations (foraging trails, entry points, nesting sites) for maximum colony impact.
What Our Ant Inspection Covers
Visual examination of ants, trails, nest material, and any damage (frass, mound, galleries) to confirm species. Key Miami ant species: ghost ant, fire ant, carpenter ant, Pharaoh ant, bigheaded ant, white-footed ant.
Following active foraging trails from visible ant activity back toward the nest or colony entry point. Trail patterns reveal whether the colony is indoors (satellite colony) or outside entering.
All structural gaps, cracks, pipe penetrations, window seals, door sweeps, and landscape contact points that provide ant access to the structure are identified and documented.
Moisture issues (plumbing leaks, poor drainage, condensation), food attractants, and landscape conditions (mulch against foundation, overhanging branches) that favor ant infestation are assessed and documented.
A species-specific treatment recommendation: product type (bait, non-repellent liquid, dust), placement locations, follow-up schedule, and structural corrections recommended to support long-term control.
